Description

Mosasaur Tooth
Mosasaurus beaugei
Late Cretaceous
Continental Sandstone Deposits
Kem Kem Basin, Morocco
1.81 x 1.29 x 0.99 inches (4.60 x 3.27 x 2.52 cm)

This well-preserved Mosasaur tooth from Morocco displays the robust form and glossy enamel characteristic of these formidable marine reptiles. Subtle striations run vertically along the crown, leading to a gently worn tip that reflects the predator's active life in Late Cretaceous seas. The tooth's warm brown coloration contrasts with the lighter matrix along the base, enhancing its natural presentation. A fine example of a classic fossil, this piece represents an iconic relic from one of the ancient ocean's apex predators.

Estimate: $200 - up.
