This Sterling Hill specimen lights up fiery orange under short-wave ultraviolet light. While it is easy to understand why fluorescent minerals are so fascinating, all of them do not "glow" like this one. The sizable example features a unique and dramatic "u-shape" with visibly stacked Calcite crystals. The mineral specimen has an aesthetic "salt and pepper" appearance in natural light. This is one hallmark example from the quintessential American locality for such material - a piece sure to appeal to fluorescent collectors.
