    Long-Horned Bull, pen and ink on paper (two-sided drawing tipped against backing, 10 x 8 inches, signed and dated lower left: Ranocchi Urbino 1950.

    Two Heads, gouache on card stock, 13 x 18 3/4 inches, signed and dated lower right in ballpoint pen: Ranocchi '60 (tape residue marks in the 4 corners).

    Virgin and Child, gouache on paper, 21 1/4 x 15 1/2 inches, signed and dated upper left in ballpoint pen.

    Contemporary Italian artist Augusto Ranocchi is a versatile talent. Originally from Urbino, he has spent most of his artistic career in Rome and has worked as a painter, draftsman, ceramic artist, and sculptor in bronze, wood, and marble. He has explored a wide variety of styles and media in his two-dimensional work, and his work ranges from an elegantly reductive Matisse-like line to a bolder, expressive application of paint. The present lot includes the following works:

    Condition Report*:

    All sheets in good condition with some handling wear, occasional surface scuffs, slight time-toning of paper and occasional creases. Tape residue where noted. Ranocchi Rome 1960 (uneven paper edges, tears along perimeter, discoloration from tape residue).
