Condition Report*: Framed dimensions: 26.5 x 21.125 inches. Craquelure commensurate with age. Fully stable paint film. Under UV examination, the majority of the inpainting is found along the vertical midline of the composition and appears to address thin splits in the panel that may have occurred at one point. There are tiny poinpoints of inpaint in the two faces but most of their bodies and drapery is original paint. The largest zone of inpaint is in the upper left quadrant of the sky where there aren't clouds. The panel was shaved in two horizontal spots where cradles were at one time most likely inserted. These are no longer present.

It would indeed have been much simpler to work with a local auction house, and we had local options. But we never once regretted going with Heritage.
