    Meyer von Bremen was a successful genre and portrait painter as well as a talented lithographer and engraver. He trained in D├╝sseldorf under C. F. Sohn and W. von Schadow. His work is represented in many major museums including Brooklyn, Cincinnati, Bremen, Hanover, Berlin and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

    Condition Report*: Fully stable paint film in good condition. Relined canvas.Older varnish somewhat yellowed. Craquelure commensurate with age. Under UV examination there are a few patches of older strengthening of the shadow areas in the background at upper left, around the baby in the figural group and in the dark folds of the clothing on the sleeping man. Some bubbles in the canvas resulting from the wax relining. Framed Dimensions 49 X 38 Inches
