    Condition Report*:

Paint film and support are both in very good condition, with very little craquelure. Canvas is unlined on its original stretcher bars, one of which bears the handwritten title Bauernmädchen. A few abrasions are present in the corners and at edges of canvas where the painting had been in contact with a frame. On three sides of the painting (left side, top, and bottom), paint film extends to edge of the tacking margin. The most heavily impastoed areas of free brushwork in the white sleeves of the blouse are in excellent condition, with no apparent losses. Unframed.
