    We wish to thank Dr. Kirsten M. Jensen for her gracious assistance in cataloguing this lot. Dr. Jensen notes that this may be an earlier sketch for two larger paintings of the same subject and that it likely depicts "a view from the family's backyard toward Lambertville, New Jersey."
