J.Trovato,Charles Burchfield: Catalogue of Paintings in Public and Private Collections, Utica, New York, 1970, Museum of Art, Munson-Williams-Proctor Institute, no 634 (possibly).

We are grateful to Nancy Weekly, Head of Collections and the Charles Cary Rumsey Curator at the Burchfield Penny Art Center, who confirmed the authorship of the above work. Although there is no image of the above in the Charles E. Burchfield archives, the work is possibly Green Grove, 19-1/2 x 27 inches, listed in the 1920s section of Trovato's book. At the time of publication Green Grove was in the possession of the artist. Trovato also cited John Straus's 1942 Honors Thesis at Harvard College, which lists Burchfield's Green Grove as catalogue number 480.
