ABOUT THE ARTIST
Contemporary painter Mary Tomás captures the quiet grace of natural forms; creating restful interludes in which to contemplate her ethereal scenes and to discover the metaphoric imagery revealed within their simplicity that gives three-dimensional context to the literal, emotional and spiritual world she interprets.

Using translucent and saturated color, light and shadow, form and space, Tomás explores the
cohesive and mutable relationships between the elements of air, water, earth and sky, and their
parallels in human nature. Evoking serenity to inspire a meditative calm, she seeks to awaken

lights and darks to create a heightened sensorial experience, engages the viewer on a journey

Proceeds from the Artscape auction will benefit The Dallas Arboretum. This auction will open online and will have bids transferred to a live event on Friday, May 12, 2017. If you the winning bid online, you will be notified following the event on Monday, May 15, 2017. The organization will collect payment and handle shipping of the winning lots. ABOUT THE EVENT
The Great Contributor to Art Award
As part of Artscape Reimagined, the Dallas Arboretum will recognize a patron of the arts for their contributions to and support of the arts in Dallas. The Great Contributor to Art Award will be presented to Craig Hall at the Artscape Award and Auction Dinner in Rosine Hall on May 12. This prize was designed and contributed by Gary Lee Price, whose Great Contributors exhibition at the Arboretum inspired the award.

Support for the Dallas Arboretum and our members, donors and the Dallas Park and Recreation Department provide Botanical Garden.
