    Born in Chicago, Illinois, Earl Staley earned his undergraduate degree in fine arts from Illinois Wesleyan University and then completed his graduate degree at the University of Arkansas. He was an instructor at Washington University at St. Louis and Rice University before serving as chairperson of the art department at the University of St. Thomas and as head of the fine arts program at Lonestar College in Tomball. Earl Staley was born in 1938 in Chicago. He moved to Texas in 1966 and is most associated with Texas. He is known for his landscapes, Greco-Roman Mythologies, and urban myth paintings.
