    E. M. "Buck" Schiwetz was one of Texas's most celebrated watercolorists. He studied at the Arts Students League in New York. Returning to Texas in 1929, he became partner in a successful advertising agency. He continued to paint his characteristic watercolors of sights around the state of Texas. Humble Oil and Refining Company, a client of Schiwetz, regularly published his drawings, watercolors, and pastels in the magazine, Humble Way, exposing tens of thousands to Schiwetz's art.
