Unusually chunky in size for the species, this single tooth makes one shudder at the thought of a whole mouth bristling with these highly efficient flesh-rending tools. The fine serrations preserved on this specimen are a testament to it's efficiency, and the width of the base of the tooth bears witness to its strength and power. Delicately shaded in mahogany and olive, it retains good enamel coverage, and at 2⅛ inches it is of typical length for this species. Glacier County, Montana, the site of the Judith River Formation, is an excellent source for these specimens.
