LARGE "OSTRICH" DINOSAUR CLAW

Struthiomimus was one of the slender, fast-running ostrich-like dinosaurs that were prolific across North America just prior to the Cretaceous-Tertiary extinction event. Reaching speeds of up to 50 mph, it would have easily avoided encounters with the tyrannosaurids that dominated the food chain, but when cornered its large recurved claws would have been of no little assistance in warding off predators. This is fine example, with an excellent woody texture and patina and deep muscle grooves on either side, measures 4 inches along the outside curve with only a small amount of restoration to the proximal end.
