Triceratops horridus
    Utah, USA

Fossilized Dinosaur bone, even just fragmentary pieces, has seemingly universal appeal. When Dinosaur bone has been preserved in such a way as to be considered "gem" bone, it becomes a rarity and is sought after for its color - often a fire red-orange hue - and its use in jewelry applications. This specimen is really quite impressive, weighing in at a stout 27 pounds, and it has been fully polished into a free-form shape - clearly showing the trabecular bone patterning. The bone material is thought to be from a Triceratops, the popular and well-known herbivore from the Cretaceous. This specimen is unique for its vibrant coloration, excellent polish and sublime shape, and, of course, it is Dinosaur bone! With a color range from bright red to jet black, the smooth surfaces and subtle shape of this piece make it something to be admired from either the perspective as a paleontological remain or a lapidary work of art.
    Overall Measurements: 11 x 7 x 5 inches (27.94 x 17.78 x 12.7 cm) and weighs 27 pounds (12.25 kilograms)
    Offered a no reserve.
