Description

Beginning September 15, this extraordinary miniature museum will be offered as a single lot, estimated at $300,000-500,000. Assembled over a 42 year period, the finest miniature makers of our time were commissioned to create one-of-a-kind pieces for the museum. Over 1875 hand made items ranging from antique to contemporary design are featured, made in a 1:12 scale.

The building measures 7.5 x 3.5 feet and rests on a solid dark oak base, which is built entirely in one piece. The display is designed to be viewed from both the front and back.

The exterior of the structure includes hand-turned walnut wood columns and ornate decoration in Italian Baroque design. Windows are hand-leaded glass and the roof is composed of one inch square multi-colored slate tiles. Round marble niches are recessed in the sides of building, above the front and back gables, and house marble busts. On the interior, various species of hardwoods are used in the construction of the floors, each room with a different wood design. The Grand Hall stairs are of travertine marble. Chandeliers were specially designed and made to match each room's décor and period, and are supported by the building's own electrical system.
