    A Jacquemin French Empire Mahogany and Gilt Bronze Portico Table Regulator Clock, Paris, early 19th century
    Marks to face: JACQUEMIN PARIS
    25-1/8 x 12-1/4 x 8-1/8 inches (63.8 x 31.1 x 20.6 cm)

    The portico table regulator featuring rich mahogany veneer, decorative gilt bronze mounts, and pendulum movement, cuboid in form with cornice with dentil molded frieze above enameled clock face encircled by a gilt bronze bezel decorated with rose and leaf motifs, flanked by four round columns with gilt bronze capitals and bases atop a stepped plinth on gilt bronze bun feet.


    Condition Report*: Overall good condition, with repairs to two corners of cornice, cracks to veneer especially to top, top of base, and columns, scattered fine surface scratches and nicks, especially to edges of cornice, some dulling and rubbing to gilt bronze with one spot of verdigris to case, small chips to veneer on back of base, and some abrasions and corrosion to mechanisms, with wear commensurate with early 19th century age and normal use.
