    A FRENCH SÈVRES-STYLE PORCELAIN AND GILT BRONZE COVERED VASE
    Maker unknown, France, circa 1860
    23 inches high (58.4 cm)

    The two-handled urn form bleu celeste ground vase with delicate gilt decoration above four figural dolphins on a rocaille scrolled base, decorated with a shorefront scene to the front and floral spray to the reverse, the neck with two oval panels painted with colorful game birds, flanked by gilt bronze acanthus leaf figural, surmounted by a domed top with gilt bronze collar and pine cone finial.

    Condition Report*: The covered urn with indication of surface pitting to the procelain body from the firing process, some loss of gilding to bronze mounts.
