    The case with brass-inlaid tortoiseshell decoration and glazed side panels, the white enameled dial with Roman chapters and metal hands, signed Ducoroy a Paris on an enamel plaque below, the glazed door adorned with a gilt plaque depicting the goddess Amphitrite driving a chariot of seahorses, a mask of Poseidon and two dolphins below, raised on hairy paw feet, the case surmounted by a cherub holding a wine goblet and jug, together with a separate bracket of similar decoration

    Condition Report*:

    One tip of Amphitrite's trident missing.  Some losses to the gilding throughout.  Chips to the edges of the glass panes.  Cracking to the tortoiseshell inlays throughout.  The tortoiseshell on the bracket likely faux.
