    AN AUSTRIAN PAINTED TERRACOTTA FIGURE OF A GYPSY
    Late 19th-Early 20th Century
    43-1/2 inches (110.5 cm) high

    Finely modeled, depicted descending a blanket-covered set of steps, a tambourine and other instruments at her feet, holding a shaped oval tray before her, elegantly draped in an Arab-style costume and jewelry, on a thin wood plinth


    Estimate: $3,000 - $5,000.

    Condition Report*:

    Some repair with overpainting along her left shoulder, the left side of her vest, her turban, the junction of the tray to her torso, her left hip, portions of the drapery falling below, the front right corner, her left foot, the drapery along her right foot, the back of the vest, along her right sleeve and arm, and both bracelets.  Crazing, glaze loss, and a few shallow chips in places.
