A Pair of Russian Patinated and Gilt Bronze Brule Perfumes

    Patinated and gilt bronze
    26.5 in. high x 12.5 in. diameter

    Surmounted by anthemia-pierced lids with pine cone finials, the campana-form urns adorned with a flared rim cast with naturalistic leaves and clustered berries; a frieze containing a procession of dancing nymphs surrounds the waist, above a swelling base decorated with applied foliate mounts and flanked by cast ram's heads upon a stem terminated in a beribboned leaf and berry socle. The urns rest upon rectangular stepped pedestal bases with alternating portrait medallions and winged-griffon mounts.
