    13-1/2 inches (34.3 cm) long

    Rectangular in form, the exterior with scalloped edges, the hinged lid adorned with a scalloped oval in contrasting wood and inlaid with ivory dots, the interior of the lid inlaid with a specimen wood wheel, inlaid ivory with blossoming vines at the corners, engraved with red and black ink, the interior fitted with two trays, each comprised of rectangular lidded compartments, the lids with ring handles, the top tray with inlaid ivory lids, the bottom tray with specimen wood lids

    Condition Report*:

    The underside of the case unstable.  Cracks and a few losses along the exterior edges of the proper right side and the back proper left corner.  Some lifting and separation to the marquetry of the lid's interior.  The ivory lids of the top tray with some losses, lifting, repair, and separation.  Compartments in both trays have some missing supports so the lids are not evenly fitted.  Surface wear and abrasions throughout, especially along the underside.
