    The lot comprising:
    Axminster wool fragment of carpet from the RMS Olympic, 17-1/4 x 12-1/4 in.;

    White Star Line promotional booklet advertising the "NEW TRIPLE SCREW S.S. 'OLYMPIC' AND 'TITANIC.,' " 15 pages depicting accommodations including the Grand Staircase, First Class Lounge, Dining Saloon, restaurants including the Verandah and Palm Courts, swimming pool and gymnasium, October 1911 printing, 9 x 12 in;

    Pictorial schematic of the interiors of Titanic and Olympic, published by the White Star Line, circa 1911, 9-1/2 x 44 in;

    Indenture of apprenticeship agreement signed by Charles Payne, the Managing Director at Harland & Wolff for George McMullan, whose position is listed as "riveter." Before McMullan began his apprenticeship, he worked as a day laborer on RMS Olympic and then Titanic, agreement dated 1917, 15 x 9-1/4 in.;

    Note: The carpet fragment matches the pattern found in the First Class Lounges of the RMS Olympic and Titanic, decorated in the Louis XIV style and inspired by the Palace of Versailles. A rendering of the lounge area is depicted in the promotional booklet included with this lot.

    Condition Report*:

    Carpet fragment with threadbaring to margins inherent with removal, apprenticeship document with creasing/soiling/minor pinpoint holes and with minor losses to top and lower margins, binding to one promotional brouchure missing and with later period staples, pictorial schematic with tape to folds and margins with apparent separations to seams, with wear commensurate with age and use.
