    Description

    Crystallized Gold Nugget
    Maryborough, Central Goldfields Shire
    Victoria
    Australia

There are really not enough superlatives that can be used to describe a singular offering like this piece which is essentially a crystallized Gold nugget. The beauty from Maryborough in Australia features the rare combination of huge mass and crystallization. The piece measures over 5 inches (13 cm) in length and has some underlying white Quartz, around which the honeycomb latticework of Gold has grown. The enormous example weighs a robust 675 grams (21.70 oz t). The precious metal here is an exquisite collector specimen and offers fantastic form, vibrant luster, and an iconic gold coloration consistent with better specimens from the vaunted locality. While this is one of the largest offerings in this grouping, the highly textural piece is also certainly one of the most visually appealing. The Gold content, while substantial, is not the key here. The aesthetics make the piece quite valuable.
    Measurements: 5.25 x 2.76 x 1.93 x inches (13.33 x 7.02 x 4.91 cm), weighs 675 grams
