Chengmenshan Mine, Jiujiang Co.
Presented on a custom engraved acrylic base, this surreal-looking,
but natural, specimen of Copper was literally "pulled from the
fire" by a miner before being sent to the crusher as a majority of
such material was not considered to be more than ore. With
appreciation to his foresight, this example stands as a really
spectacular representation with a flame-like shape and fiery
coloration. With hues ranging from vibrant orange to purplish-red,
the relatively thick and stout offering has high visual appeal. The
specimen does measure a respectable 5 inches (12.7 cm) across and
has a subtle, yet artistic, convex/concave shape for added impact.
Both sides of the example could really be the primary display face.
This is one vivid piece.
