Fukang Meteorite Slice - 3,215.28 Grams
Pallasite, PMG
Xinjiang, China - (44° 26'N, 87° 38'E)
Found: 2000

An absolutely breathtaking slice of the famed Fukang Meteorite, this museum-quality specimen ranks among the most impressive examples of the celebrated pallasite ever presented for sale to collectors. Weighing in excess of 3.2 kilograms (over 7 pounds), it is enormous by any standard and an exceptionally large example of coveted Fukang material, which measures over 14 inches (35.6 cm) at its greatest dimension. Given that the vast majority of Fukang specimens are modest slices and fragments, the sheer magnitude alone places it in a category reserved for only the most significant examples of this iconic extraterrestrial treasure. First discovered in China in 2000, Fukang quickly achieved near-legendary status among meteorite enthusiasts and serious collectors, prized for its extraordinary combination of metallic Nickel-Iron matrix and gemstone-like Olivine crystals. This magnificent thick section showcases the meteorite at its absolute finest. Brilliant Olivine crystals blanket the polished metallic surface in a dazzling mosaic of colors and textures, ranging from warm golden-yellow honey tones to rich amber and vivid green hues. Many of the crystals exhibit exceptional translucency, allowing light to penetrate the ancient interiors, resulting in a remarkable sense of depth rarely encountered in any natural object. This specimen's expansive dimensions showcase the blend of metal and crystal that has made Fukang one of the most coveted pallasites in the world. Every portion of the cut and polished slice, which is superlative on both sides, reveals new patterns and crystalline structures, warranting prolonged examination while also delivering immediate visual impact from across the room. Presented in a custom-designed acrylic display stand that elevates the specimen to the level of a fine sculpture, this solid slab possesses an undeniable artistic presence equal to its scientific significance and rarity. Examples of Fukang of this scale are virtually never encountered on the marketplace. To find one of such extraordinary size is remarkable; to find one displaying this caliber of crystal coverage, translucency, and overall aesthetic quality as well is truly exceptional. This is a world-class masterpiece of cosmic artistry, formed billions of years ago and preserved through an improbable journey to Earth, worthy of gracing even the very finest collections of meteorites anywhere in the world.
Measurements: 14.17 x 12.20 x 0.71 inches (36.00 x 31.00 x 1.80 cm), weighs 3,215.28 grams
