Description

Fluorescent Dugway Geode
Dugway geode beds
Dugway Pass area, Juab Co.
Utah, USA
6.00 x 5.18 x 2.93 inches (15.24 x 13.15 x 7.45 cm)

Often referred to in the trade as "Dugway Geode," this distinctive material is known for its weathered brown exterior that opens to reveal a crystalline interior, frequently framed by subtle bluish-purple banding. The specimen offered here is a particularly well-formed example, showcasing the classic features of its Utah locality, with strong symmetry and an appealing natural shape. Under Shortwave Ultraviolet light, the interior fluoresces a vibrant green, a characteristic response linked to trace mineral inclusions within the Quartz matrix. This is one excellent representation of this most unique geological formation.

Estimate: $300 - up.
