Description

Triceratops Frill Fossil
Triceratops horridus
Late Cretaceous
Hell Creek Formation
Montana, USA
7.80 x 7.17 x 1.18 inches (19.80 x 18.20 x 3.00 cm)

This substantial Triceratops horridus frill section preserves part of the massive cranial shield that once protected one of the most recognizable dinosaurs of the Late Cretaceous. Natural surface texture and dense fossil bone structure remain clearly visible across both sides of the specimen, revealing the rugged construction of the frill in impressive detail. Like many large dinosaur fossils, the piece exhibits restoration and repair consistent with the recovery and stabilization of authentic ceratopsian material, while still retaining strong visual and scientific character. The broad triangular form and unmistakable morphology give the specimen immediate display appeal, evoking the immense scale and power of this iconic three-horned herbivore. Both a genuine piece of dinosaur anatomy and a commanding display specimen, this fossil would make an especially memorable Father's Day gift for collectors and enthusiasts of prehistoric life.

Estimate: $800 - up.
