Description

NWA 11428 Lunar Meteorite Slice
Lunar (feldspathic breccia)
Northwest Africa
Found: 2017
2.05 x 1.28 x 0.07 inches (5.20 x 3.24 x 0.19 cm)

This polished slice of NWA 11428 represents a fragment of a larger lunar meteorite recovered from Northwest Africa. Weighing 5.05 grams, the section displays a classic brecciated structure, with pale clasts suspended within a darker matrix formed by ancient impact processes on the Moon's surface. Each fragment within the slice records a history of repeated collisions, pressure, and reassembly within the lunar crust. The polished finish brings clarity to this complex internal texture while maintaining the natural outline of the piece. This slice offers a tangible and compelling example of genuine material from the Moon shaped by billions of years of extraterrestrial activity.

Estimate: $500 - up.
