In 2000, Supreme, a six-year-old skate brand, received a cease-and-desist letter from the iconic luxury fashion house Louis Vuitton. Seventeen years later, the two brands came together to reveal their highly sought-after collaboration at Le Palais Royal in Paris, showcased during Louis Vuitton's Fall/Winter 2017 Menswear Collection.

The collection included hats, t-shirts, and skate decks-the very items that had led to the cease-and-desist in 2000-now reimagined with Louis Vuitton's signature monogram pattern in Supreme's bold red and LV's classic black and brown.

Spearheaded by Louis Vuitton's then-creative director Kim Jones and Supreme's founder James Jebbia, the collaboration marked a watershed moment in fashion, merging the worlds of streetwear and luxury. Louis Vuitton described the collection, titled "Friends and Heroes," as "a celebration of New York street style and Louis Vuitton's French savoir-faire."
