Description

Historic Ahrens-Fox Fire Pumping Engine, 1920
Approximate length: 24 feet

The Ahrens-Fox fire truck was originally ordered by the Minneapolis City Fire Department in 1920. There's no way of knowing how many lives or how much property the truck has helped to save over the years, but there is a powerful presence to the vehicle. The front-mounted four-piston pump is topped by the distinctive large chromed priming ball, an early safety device to regulate hose pressure. Ahrens-Fox has long since been considered the Rolls Royce of fire vehicles and, like a Rolls, presents as an artistic and mechanical masterpiece. This historic Ahrens-Fox is being offered for sale with a full compliment of hoses, ladders, tools and firefighting accessories of the period.

This lot is located in Morgantown, Pennsylvania, and it is being offered in situ. The buyer will be responsible for shipping arrangements from this location. For more information or to arrange a lot viewing appointment, please contact Samantha Robinson at SamanthaR@HA.com.
