Released in November 2009, the Air Jordan 12 Retro Flu Game commemorates Michael Jordan's iconic performance in Game 5 of the 1997 NBA Finals, when he scored 38 points against the Utah Jazz despite battling flu-like symptoms.

This 2009 edition differs from the original, featuring a black suede upper contrasted with a Varsity Red mudguard and outsole. Unique to this release are "sick-face" icons on the tongue and heel, positioned between the numbers "97" and "38" in reference to the game.
