    An Viennese Empire Ebonized, Giltwood, Alabaster, and Gilt Bronze Figural Mantel Clock with Classical Motif, circa 1810

    PROPERTY FROM THE RITTER ANTIK COLLECTION A splendid showpiece, ebonized clock case, magnificently brass-mounted (remaining all original parts), giltwood sculptures.
    Temple with mirrored wall, marquetry floor, stained woods, pen works, and arched portal with obelisk inscribed "Das mit Lorbern gekroente Kaiser paar" (The Laurel-Crowned Emperor Pair) and flanked by the Emperor Pair, alabaster columns and bodyguards, clock works with grand sonnerie movement having calendar and two animated figures striking the hours and quarterly bells with hammers to hands, enamel dial with Arabic numbers.

    Condition Report*: Some missing elements to giltwood figures, various regluing and restorations throughout, mirror with age-related losses to silvering, few fine hairlines to clock face with errant scratching, other errant wear and regluing, with wear commensurate with age and use; lot is apparently without pendulum or key. Heritage does not gurantee the working order or completeness of clock mechanisms.
