    A Three Piece Napoleon III Sèvres-Style Porcelain and Gilt Bronze Clock Garniture, circa 1870
    Marks to mechanism: MF, 714
    23 inches high (58.4 cm) (clock)

    The clock surmounted by painted and partial gilt porcelain urn, reticulated collar and lid to vessel, figurehead mounts to handle, painted cartouche of cupid to verso, below to flanking scrolled leaf mounts, beaded trim throughout clock case, face with conforming painted dial, down to central cartouche of allegorical woman and putto, framed by oval portrait and floral plaques, sides with rounded porcelain plaques depicting idyllic countryside scenes, case raised on domed plinth with acanthus leaf border, two conforming inset plaques and raised gilt embellishments to lower apron, raised on toupie feet, accompanied by conforming garniture pair.

    Condition Report*: Small chip to the porcelain urn surmounting the clock, minor stress fractures around the key holes, expected rubbing of the gilt decoration throughout, crisp molding of the mounts, mounts to the smaller urns need to be tightened, lot includes pendulum and winding key.
