    A Swiss Twelve Tune Bell-and-Drum Cylinder Music Box, late 19th century
    11-3/4 h x 25 w x 14-3/4 d inches (29.8 x 63.5 x 37.5 cm)

    The box of rectangular form, lid inlaid to middle with sheet music and instrumental motif, string banding framing border, beveled ebonized wood edges to lid, interior fitted with cylinder, drum, and bell mechanism that can play twelve unique songs as indicated by included list, front of case with metal escutcheon and painted floral and urn cartouche to center, sides and reverse case with ebonized wood finish, raised on four short bracket feet.

    Condition Report*: Age-crack extending width of lid and chipped losses to lid, rubbing to ebonzied wood, chip to escutcheon, surface scratces, losses to painted motif to front, other scattered age-related cracking and chipping, sun fading to exterior, interior lid lock mechanism missing, one tooth to comb with solder repair and appears to be loose, interior drum with tear to lining, STOP/PLAY function does not appear to work but cylinder turns and plays when cranked; lot is without key.
