    A French Bronze Fireplace-Form Mantle Clock, circa 1895

    16-1/4 h x 12 w x 6-1/2 d inches (41.3 x 30.5 x 16.5 cm)
    The clock in the form of a covered fireplace, angled roof with decorative trim down to middle case with central porcelain clock face flanked by inset floral friezes, faux-brick hearth with inset plaque, Marti & Cie gong-striking movement having a pendulum in the form of a cooking pot which is suspended in the figural fireplace, surrounded by andirons and two chairs to front on textured faux-tile floor, raised on black marble plinth.

    This exact clock is illustrated on page 263 of Mystery, Novelty and Fantasy Clocks by Devole Roberts.
