The near life-size vase is carefully modeled in high relief showing the Old Fire God with deeply recessed eyes, a thin eyebrow, strong nose, slightly open mouth with two teeth and tongue, and a short beard. He wears round ear ornaments suspended through loops at the ears, each with an 'X' emblem and has deep wrinkles surrounding the eyes and across the cheeks. In an unusual depiction, his eyes are directed to his left. The jar is covered with a smooth strong deep greenish gray surface and is reconstructed from large pieces, matching fill over lines, with restoration to upper left ear and a shard on rear. A dramatic and powerful image.
