An Olmec Baby
c. 1000 - 400 BC

Seated with legs spread in a jaunty posture, proper right hand to hip and left to knee; lively facial features with mouth open as though vocalizing. Buffware with cream paints on face and body, with black on patch of hair on forehead and legs. In good condition with some repair and restoration as expected; proper left arm restored at middle and hand, head reattached and filled at neck, missing left foot (possibly in antiquity).
