A Chupicuaro Standing Female
c. 400 - 200 BC

Rich burnished tomato red and cream colors. A wide stance, with emphasis on the thighs, feet with toes delineated, hands held to chest beneath youthful breasts, six scarification bumps on upper arms, the face in a rather fierce expression with open mouth showing teeth and diagonal eyes. In very good condition aside from repaired break (not restored) around midsection, stress crack on back, possibly strengthened with modern material.
