    A Pair of Enamel Painted Plaques

    After Anthony Van Dyck, France
    Nineteenth Century
    Enamel
    Unmarked
    11 inches long x 6 inches wide

    Depicting Charles I, King of England, dressed for the Hunt, and Queen Henrietta Maria and her children colorfully painted, the king standing with an attendant on a hilltop overlooking the sea, and Henrietta Maria with her children and dog, her crown on the table in carved and gilt frame. The original portrait of Charles I is in the collection of the Louvre in Paris.

    Condition Report*: Plaque of Henrietta Maria with crazing to enamel, some surface wear.
