    A Monumental Theodore Deck Grand Vase with Chinoiserie Motif, Paris, France, circa 1880
    Marks: TH DECK
    22-1/2 inches high (57.2 cm)

    The vase decorated in bright polychromed enameled glaze on celadon ground, triangulated-pattern in turquoise trim to border, Golden pheasant perched on blossoming cherry tree branch surrounded by chrysanthemums to front, continuing around body with butterfly and swallow motif interspersed between foliate and floral embellishments, raised on rounded base with conforming turquoise-trimmed design terminating with purple foliate banding.

    Condition Report*: Minor areas with small linear crazing, otherwise presenting well. Lot has been examined under UV light with no signs of breaks, repairs, or restoration.
