A Chinese Blue and White 'Lotus' Dish, Six-character Wanli mark and of the period
1-1/8 x 7-5/8 inches (2.9 x 19.4 cm) (diam.)

Delicately molded in the form of a blooming lotus flower, the dish rests on a short, straight foot. The interior features a central roundel inscribed with a Sanskrit character, encircled by two decorative bands of ruyi heads and two tiers of overlapping petals. The exterior is adorned with a band of raised lotus petals beneath a frieze of panels, each bearing Sanskrit characters and floral motifs. The recessed base is marked with a six-character Wanli reign mark enclosed within double circles. Accompanied by a wood stand.

Condition Report*: The dish intricately molded to imitate lotus bloom, and overall presents well. Some minor chips and bug bites to the tips of the petals, along with a chip to the foot rim, commensurate with age and handling. Some firing cracks to the plate, especially to the underside and the recessed base. Otherwise, no other visible condition issues observed.
