A Chinese Blue and White with Iron-Red Decorated Basin, late Qing Dynasty
4-1/2 x 15-1/8 x 15-1/8 inches (11.4 x 38.4 x 38.4 cm)

The interior well and cavetto of the basin painted with iron-red lotus amongst scrolling foliage, along with four bats each suspending a lock, the flaring rim featuring a decorative band of ruyi heads, the exterior of the basin also displaying five iron-red bats suspending Buddhist object, the recessed base incised with a "CHINA" mark.
