Description

Enamel & Hardstone Knife
India

Crafted in the refined aesthetic of the Mughal tradition, this elegant ceremonial knife features a hardstone handle of pistol-grip design, inlaid with vibrant red, green, and turquoise enamel intended to emulate the appearance of Rubies and Emeralds. The enamelwork, framed by delicate metal borders, reflects the opulence and decorative sensibility characteristic of Indo-Islamic courtly objects. The curved steel blade is inscribed with Arabic script, lending historical resonance and cultural depth to the piece. A harmonious blend of utility and artistry, this knife exemplifies the fusion of metalwork, gem-like enamel decoration, and Mughal design influence.
