    This painting is accompanied by a photocopy of the original bill of sale from D. Wigmore Fine Art, Inc.

    Condition Report*: Re-varnished and wax re-lined canvas with stable paint film and overall craquelure, commensurate with age.  Three small paint chips in foliage of central tree.  Very faint white linear accretion along top left edge. Under UV examination:  scattered minor flecks of in-painting in upper right sky and in sky along left edge and a 1/2" circle of in-painting in upper left sky; a 1/2" circle and a 1/4" circle of in-painting in foliage of central tree, as well as two 2" vertical lines; a 1/2" horizontal line in right trunk of central tree; a 14" roughly vertical line in left quadrants, from the left edge of stream to the left edge of central tree; several minor flecks of in-painting in the lower rocks.  A note from conservator Suzanne Duff (Essex Fells, New Jersey) on the backing board verso reads, "Cosmetic treatment May '95  upper left quadrant -- consolidation & replacement of large paint flake; varnished with B72."
