What an exceptional, three-dimensional cabinet-sized cluster of gemmy, mint green Apophyllite from India. Although very common today, contemporary material comes from new localities and is a slightly different color of green. This is the old classic location from long ago, as evident by the distinct style and color combination. Every Fluorapophyllite crystal is super lustrous with gemmy terminations and glistening internal reflections that make these crystals glow and sparkle. The base of the crystals are turbid and quickly transition to gem clear at their terminations and radiate their vibrant mint green color. It is nearly pristine, with only a few missing crystals. Crystals in the main cluster at the top and subsidiary clusters on the sides are from 1 to 2.5 cm in length and average about 1 cm in width. The main group of Fluorapophyllite crowns the top of the piece, front and center, while the two smaller clusters balance the piece on either side. The bright, mint green Apophyllite crystals contrast well with the underlying druse of tiny, white Stilbite crystals that completely blanket the basalt matrix underneath. There is a minor amount of damage to the Apophyllite crystals toward the back of the piece; otherwise, they are in excellent condition. The piece is simply gorgeous - these old classics have a sparkle unmatched by almost any other find to date and a truly special color.
