DescriptionLidded Tripod Vessel
Ça 450-650 AD
Thin softly burnished blackware
The vessel is delicately modeled in cylindrical form with a band of twisted forms adorning the body. It rests on three slab feet. The lid, which fits perfectly, echoes the twisted pattern from the body. The finial is a flaring cylinder. The vessel's lid has suffered a few breaks which have been repaired, but, in general it is complete and is a very fine example of Teotihuacan thin ware.
Estimate: $1,500 - $2,000.
