Ann McIntyre is an emerging artist who lives and works in Dallas, TX, where she graduated with a BFA in ceramics from Southern Methodist University. After a 20 year career as a strategic account executive in the information technology space, she rededicated her life to creative pursuits. Ann attributes her passion for art and aesthetics to her move to Tokyo, Japan, at age 17. After graduating from high school in Tokyo, she apprenticed for 1.5 years under master porcelain ceramicist Koichi Takita in Aizu Wakamatsu, Fukushima-ken Japan. In 2018, Ms. McIntyre's work was chosen by Whitney Museum of Art Curator of Drawing and Prints Kim Conaty, as well as Marcela Guerrero, Assistant Curator at the Whitney Museum for inclusion in shows in Long Beach Island, New Jersey ("Works on Paper") and Brooklyn, New York, respectively. MOMA curator Lilian Tone chose her work for inclusion in the "Color" show in Brooklyn, NY, in 2016. In 2017 she won "Best in Show" at the legendary "Art in the Metroplex" show, judged by Judy Tedford Deaton, Chief Curator of the Grace Museum, and was rewarded with a one-woman show at Art7 Gallery in Ft. Worth. Her first gallery show was held at JM Gallery in 2016 in the Dallas Arts District. Her work won 2nd Place Award at the Artsplace III Regional Competition, judged by Shirley Reese-Hughes Curator of the Amon Carter Museum in 2017, and was included in "Women in Print" curated by Susan Lecky in 2016. In 2014, she was selected for "New Texas Talent" by Andrea Karnes, Curator of the Ft Worth Modern Museum.
