    The custom made oval covered entrée serving dish in the Indian pattern, the base with swelling fluted sides and everted rim with cast and chased brocade pattern and upturned stylized palmette leaves, the "hat box" shaped top with chased repoussé floral, foliate and scroll decoration, beaded border, crown shaped knop.

    This piece was originally part of an extensive dinner service made for the Gorham Manufacturing Co. display at the 1889 Exposition Universelle in Paris. In the commemorative booklet for the Exposition the service is identified as "A Dinner Service with Indian designs in repoussé."
