An Ameca Jalisco Figure Drinking from large Olla c. 200 BC - 200 AD

The male figure seated, straddling the large olla between his knees and steadying it with his left hand, holding a notched tubular implement to his mouth with his right hand as though sipping through a large straw, a cape draped over his back. Typical Ameca tanware with black pigment on eyes, cape, top of head and armband. In apparently good condition, surface scratches and erosion of the paint, large wax props on underside of feet and buttocks.
