    Jenny is an African elephant who has been housed at the Dallas Zoo since 1986. She is 35 years old and currently living in the new Savanna Habitat with five other female African elephants; Gypsy 30, Stumpy 47, Mama 42, Congo 34, and Kamba 32. Jenny weighs 9,945 pounds and eats between 200 and 300 pounds of food each day. A large portion of her diet is Timothy hay. Jenny also enjoys most fruits and vegetables, favoring melons. Jenny enjoys many activities such as eating browse, wallowing in the mud and sand, napping in the sun and of course, painting! This acrylic on canvas artwork was painted by Jenny in 2011. This lot includes a CD with photos of Jenny while she paints.

Today, there are still youth from our community dealing with this and other critical issues like truancy - issues that are negatively affecting their futures. Since inception Dallas Challenge has helped over 147,000 youth in programs that improve their health, return them to school and enhance their overall wellbeing. The ART FROM THE HEART Celebrity Art Auction & Benefit features art from celebrities and local artist that want to make a difference in our community.
